How would you install your Komplete bundle?

I am setting up a new DAW. I have box copies of Komplete 5, 6, and 7.

I have some projects that used B4II, Kontakt 3, and Gutar Rig 3 so I want to get them from my Komplete 5 install disks. Then I think I can go straight to the full Komplete 7 install.

Any thoughts or stuff I should keep in mind?

Thanks.

best regards,
mike

Patience is a virtue - especially when installing Komplete!

In order, then, to discover the limit of deepest tones, it is necessary not only to produce very violent agitations in the air but to give these the form of simple pendular vibrations. - Hermann von Helmholtz, predicting the role of the electric bassist in 1877.

I would definitely just install the few things from 5 that you need, and then everything from 7.  I'd especially make a point of skipping the Akoustik and Electrik Pianos in 5 because Elektrik are included in the Kontakt 4 Library, and the Akoustik Pianos are included as Kontakt libraries with Komplete 7.

If memory serves, Kontakt went from supplying a 16-bit sample library to a 24-bit one somewhere along the line.  If you want Kontakt 3 to work, you should probably install the sample libraries in a different place for the various versions.  Otherwise, you may be overwriting the 16-bit sounds and render Kontakt 3 non-functional.  This is just speculation.  My Kontakt installs have been wholesale replacement of what was there earlier, so this was of no concern to me.

I have 2 drives.... one is the working drive with OS and all the programs including Sonar and Komplete

the second drive is a storage drive 1TB where I have installed all my sample libraries.

there is no issue related to speed of access since the samples are loaded to memory anyway.
