Howdy y'all
Been a long time since I visited this forum, still go by the name "GamblersChoice". Had a run of bad health back there, throat cancer had me for a while. But that is all done, beat it and I am clean and clear of that potential problem. Y'all might remember a fellow friend from this forum, Jimmy, who was not as lucky as myself, and I can not tell the story of my brush with mortality without mentioning that I know of someone in particular who did not make it, which reminds me of the blessing of life I received.
All that aside, I came here for a specific reason. Recently went through a complete upgrade due to the fatal crash of my old faithful studio computer. I got almost ten years out of it, it was stuffed full with as much add-on and upgrade as it could support, but finally just could not take the abuse any longer. In the process of upgrading I now have a piece of equipment that might be of some use to others here.
I have an E-MU 1820 soundcard, the breakout box that goes with it, and all of the software that came with it. I used it to hook my computer to a 16 channel board, all wired into the studio in a real nice way, and unfortunately never used for its intended purpose. I am keeping the 16 channel board, already hooked it up for use as a sound system for working out in a club or bar situation, lots of power and monster speakers, but my hook up to the computer is much more light weight and simpler these days for me. I don't need the sixteen channels.
This sound card can handle a huge number of ins and outs, just looking at the booklet...6 balanced lines in, 6 balanced lines out 2 monitor outs (all trs 1/4"), stereo phono (rca) ins, and 2 midi ports on the back panel, 2 mic/line inputs and 2 midi ports on the front, s/pdif in and out, and headphone out. Plus the onboard phantom power. The heart of the system is a 1010 PCI card, so it needs a slot open in the tower. Set up for firewire, but I have no idea what that is, and there is a cable that connects the external box to the soundcard, also in perfect condition.
So, like I said this is just like five times the system I need, and it is in perfect operating condition. I used it for myself so I know it works, but severely underused it, it is designed for someone doing studio work for a band or small group. I am looking to sell or trade, and the price will be very reasonable.
If this is the wrong place to put this thread, please tell me where you want it moved to, or I would be happy to copy/paste/delete, but I figured, from what I remembered of the people here, I would not get yelled at for posting in the wrong place...at least not too loud.
Let me know if there is any interest in this piece of equipment....
Later
