Hurricane dance with Irma in Florida
Hey anyone else in Florida writing a song to dance with Irma as she comes right up center lane, from Key West to Georgia?
I believe I'll be able to look her right in the eye as she passes by.
*A dance I'd rather not have.....😞
Good luck to all that may be in the path..

I lived in Florida in 2004 when Ivan, Jeanne, Frances, etc. hit and was in the northern part of the eye wall. Although I wasn't hurt, there was no power, gasoline, food, cell service, communications of any kind, or water (other than rain) for 12 days. I still have friends in Florida and they're going to have a tough slog for not just the next few days, but the next few weeks if the forecasts are even close to accurate. Please take care of yourself. I feel for what you're about to go through, and hope that you persevere as well as humanly possible. Hopefully Irma will turn more to the south rather than go straight up the middle of Florida. Good luck!!!!

I am very close to Orlando and we're bracing for it. I feel especially bad for the people who live in the Keys and Southern FL. This is not a storm to take lightly.

I'm in Gainesville. They're saying Sunday evening and all day Monday could be pretty nasty, but it still hasn't made that north turn they've been calling for. So we'll see. No hurricane dance song. I've actually unplugged the DAW computer and am thinking about bagging it up just to be on the safe side if a window gets taken out and rainwater gets in.

My brother lives in Fort Lauderdale and spent yesterday driving to Pensacola. It took 14 hours in slow traffic, and he is very lucky to be ensconced in a hotel. The concern is what he comes back to when this is all over. Good luck to all over that side of the pond who are affected, we are thinking off you.

My brother-in-law in Turks and Caicos just lived through it, and said it was literally the most terrifying experience of his life - and he's a stage-IV cancer survivor. He's fine but the island is pretty badly trashed. And Jose is hot on Irma's heels so goodness knows what will be left of the Caribbean when this year is over. I hope all in Florida are either getting out or hunkering down and staying safe somehow. Irma is not messing around!

I'm in Inverness (Citrus Co) which is on the gulf coast side about 60 miles north of Tampa. As it stands this morning it looks like the eye will come directly over us. I'm about 15 miles inland and not in an evacuation area. There is no gas locally or even north to the Georgia line according to Gas Buddy so we are staying put. I have tarps ready if needed to help protect studio and music equipment.

I live on the south west coast of the UK so well out of the way, but we do get your hurricanes second hand over here as they sweep back around over the Atlantic and usually end up here. Wishing everyone well and stay safe!

I've lived in South Louisiana most of my life. Hurricanes suck. I've run from some. I've stayed and suffered through others. But about 5 years ago I decided to ride one out (I believe it was Isaac) and the eyewall passed right over my house. Absolutely terrifying, and that was just a Category 1 storm. I will never stay again. So everyone who is in the path of Irma or who has loved ones there (my parents are in Sarasota), you are in my prayers and I wish you the best of luck.

It's looking West but could go back and forth. The fact that it was and could still go straight up the peninsula is a one in a hundred but here we are.
We did just get the boards up on windows etc, all the usual a bit ago. We don't have to get plywood anymore... I still use what we got for first hurricane here, 15 yrs ago.
When we had three in a row, in one week, several years ago I still remember telling my wife as we looked out of the living room..."don't worry Sweetie.... there's no way the third one will hit us too. 😉Famous last words.....it came right over I-4. So you never know.. Best wishes and stay safe.
