Hypothesis Of Funk...A Funk Guitar Video

Hi all,

An online friend of mine named Mats Nermark created this funky backing track .

When I heard it on another forum , I told him I liked it , so he told me to have a go at it .

Last night I had some free time to play with his track .

I wound up filming my little practice session and making a u tube video.

I hope you enjoy this ,

Kenny

I enjoyed how you let the space you left make it funky.

The chromatic runs had my head spinning... it reminded me of when I am stumbling through an improv and then I thought about the idea that you knew excatly where you are on that fret board.

Where can I get me more of that?

    :-)

Great licks man.  Looked like you were reaching to the jazz practice books, some cool scales there.

Boppin'!  I hope the hell your playing around some where, you should be working every night.  I be there if I lived where you do!  Maybe after I retire next year my travels will get me in your area as the wife and intend to spend a lot our summers out your way.

    Hi Frank ,
yes it sure is nutty in places.

For many years I have practiced a lot of atonal controlled chaos on my guitar. It is very rare for me to use it on recordings.
In my live playing i use it all the time .
thank you for the kind words

Yep, very nice indeed! Reminds me a bit of some Jeff Beck's blow-by-blow work.

I think that it's safe to call this one "Absolute Incontrovertible Proof of Funk"!

    Hi Tap,

now that you mention it , some of the sounds on this track do remind  me of Jeff Becks Blow By Blow ....the B.T. track maybe ?

    Hi jsaras,

Yeah, since I had kept the original song title " Hypothesis Of Funk"...
I was more than a little concerned about how this track was gonna be received and come across

I'm very happy w the guitar playing on this song and peoples reactions to it

thank you for the kind words
