I ALSO picked up some sale items and of course the obligatory screen capture blurb...

FINALLY got the Concrete Limiter.  Nothing new to say, in fact probably quite a bit less than what others might have contributed and of course Cake's own videos really describe well.  But I enjoy making these vids and help spread the Word of what Cake is offering to their great customers (which would be US :-)
I'm always a tad shy that I might really be making some glaring technical mistakes in these videos...but if pointed out, then the worse is I just learn.  Can't beat that!

Cool video. When I watched you working the ambient one, it didn't look like you had too much level. I thought to mention that you can raise the track gain to get more signal into the concrete limiter so that you can hit that sweet spot. You can then bring the volume of the track back down with the track fader and so forth.

    Just a thought.

    Best,

I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.

Hey G... yeah...the ambient channel was low, and in these videos, I see other technical problems too...which I try to keep to a min...sometimes without success!  I'll crank a fader and clip the signal, etc... and the peak meters stay lit, etc...  Gain staging is an issue, mucking around with things so drastically, but it isn't worth it AT THIS POINT for me to totally re-do a video.  But your comment about the gain is excellent and stuff like this is a good reminder/idea, to keep that stuff in mind.  Also, I've had instances where the compression was just too much for actual use, and fear others make think that's what I'm going for.  I find in some  other people's videos, the adjustments are so subtle, you can't really hear them...especially with untrained ears.
thanks again, and thx for the PM.
