Did you delete the track or simply hide it? Deleted tracks don't make any noise.... because they are not there. What version of MC are you using.

MC6 If I hid it how do I find it? My son's deleted several tracks already and they are gone. Please guide me through this. Brian

Unfortunately, they removed the Hide Track option from MC 6 unless you accidentally hit the keyboard shortcut for it, which they forgot to remove. Also unfortunately, if you accidentally hit the keyboard shortcut and hid a track, they did remove the shortcut to unhide it. How did you delete it?

Your best option to save the song without the missing-but-still-heard track is to export all the tracks then import them into a completely new project set to the same tempo.

change the name of the project slightly and then delete the entire old project folder from the Cakewalk Projects folder.

Highlight the track by clicking on it..... the entire track must be selected. It will be darker when it's selected. Then right click it and choose copy..... open a second new project and select a track and paste....this works for audio and midi data. OR.... if the tracks are audio.... select them as before..... one at a time and choose the EXPORT AUDIO function. Export the tracks into a temporary holding folder and then open a new project where you will import them into new tracks. Using this method... if the tracks have multiple small clips in them, they will become ONE track and one clip upon the export. Not a bad thing. Be sure the BPM match the old projects and that you have the entire track from the beginning so they all line up properly.

use the export audio and you'll get all of your tracks starting at the same time and won't be missing anything if you have clips in the tracks. but when you export the audio and want individual tracks, you need to choose that option when the popup window comes up. I can't remember the exact options to choose, I will have to look at that when I get home tonight. but look at the different options available and you should be able to figure it out. you want to export individual tracks and something in there says something like that. you can choose the location to export them to.

Because you're new, you must do some homework.

In the export options, do you recall what it was set at? MP3, CD, some other option?

if you exported the entire track, like I mentioned above, then you just start it at the beginning of the project same as it was before - all tracks would start at the same time.

that piano peice was inside the bongo track??? I muted every track one by one . So I took that peice out . When I exported the whole thing The piano peice came too that's when I went back. Thank's for everyones help. This seams to be a glitch in the program I'll look out for.

make sure the time line is totally at the beginning. Then click the tracks one by one and select import audio and navigate to the folder with the tracks and select them..... waaaa laaaa. They will import to the time line, which is at the beginning of the song...and everything syncs up nicely.

to move it to the beginning of the project, just click and drag. to move it by very small increments, use the number pad. 1, 4 & 7 move it left, 3, 6 & 9 move it right. 1& 3 moves it the smallest amount, 7 & 9 move it the most. you can also adjust by how much each of these movements are done in the preferences.

And....... when you use a PASTE command.... there are 2 options there.... ordinary paste puts it in where the time line is at.....and the other...specific paste or something like that allows you to type in the paste starting point.
