I NEED HELP PLEASE delays for vocals

can someone please tell me should i use a stereo or mono delay for lead vocals

    You can use anything you like... it depends on the type of song and the type effect that you're looking for. Why not try both and see what works for your song?

    A stereo delay will have controls that will affect each side separately. If you use a mono delay both left and right channels will have the same amount of delay and feedback. With a stereo delay you can have different delay, feedback, mix and other controls on each channel. Play around with the stereo delay and see how it can sound different from a mono delay. Like garrigus posted, you should get familiar with both before you will know what works best for you. There is no law that says you have to use one or the other for vocals, or any other audio source.

    As above.  A stereo delay, but its nature, will be thicker.  If you are looking to replace the 'verb on the vox w/ delay I would try a stereo first.  Another trick for faux verb using a delay for a cleaner sound is to take it off sync, since each delay will most probably fall on a beat, empahsises the rhythm not bloom.

    Conversely, if you are looking for echo, sync it and use mono to replicate the old echo echo echo effects.
