Oh yeah.  Before the crack of noon I'm pretty useless.  But, at night, up until at least 3am, I can crank out the work!

I used to be that (in my contracting days). But six years at the DOD (i.e. no overtime and you work your eight a day go home) I'm not sure I could do that again (plus I'm getting older and like sleeping at night now).

Right now I can sleep anytime I want, but my body still wants to keep going late.  I've tried adjusting it to so-called "normal" hours, but it doesn't matter how many hours of sleep I get, I'm just useless in the morning hours.  If I'm doing something exciting, I find that I only sleep three or 4.5 hours at a time (two to three sleep cycles), combining two of these throughout the day.  Even now, it's only about six hours every night (3am to 9am last night).  Seems to be about all I need.

I'm not sure I could handle having to work only eight hours every day!  I'd be far better off (and way more productive) if I worked 16 hours then had a day off.  Once I get going and into the "zone" I don't want to stop (and my back suffers because I forget to get up and stretch often enough).  Oh well...

Had a DVT 12 years ago after a 12 hour drive. Right leg swelled up to 10cms bigger, and it's still 3cm thicker than the left one now. Scary time.

DVT is no joke........I work in a hospital setting and the long time sufferer's of DVT have to take some sort of anticoagulant (blood thinner) which has lead to GI bleed and then they've become anemic etc....it's a series of bad events that can take place. 
A little walk and excercise will do you a lot of good....don't just sit on your arse!

Yeah.  My right foot is slightly larger that my left--I haven't measured it.  I have to take low dose baby asprin.  I've had the stonger stuff.  Maybe it helped, but it was hard to tell if it actually made  a difference. 

Thanks for the warnings, but I don't think I'm THAT bad!  So far, the only thing getting larger is my belly (again) so I'll have to start my exercises to get it back under control.  I've gained back about eight pounds of the 25 I had lost.  I don't want to let it get that for out of hand this time!

Of course, a lot of that is stress which is more than normal when you need to find BOTH a place to live AND a real job!

At least if you're exercising for the gut, you're probably also avoiding the clots.  Good luck with all of that.
