I Threw In The Towel...
...and went back to a corded mouse. No matter what wireless/usb mouse (or which brand) I tried i'd get hang ups, slow downs, sketchy behavior and disappearing cursors. I've been using the corded one all this last weekend and have had not one single problem. Fast, accurate and easy peasy. Still hate the cord though.

I'm going to move the receiver and if that doesn't correct the bad I'll be going back to cord too.

my wireless mouse and keyboard work flawlessly. Yoropal - I wonder if it could be the USB bus/port it is on? That certainly CAN make a difference in USB performance. I encountered that before. I hate wires...

I have found the wireless receiver has to be pretty close and not in whatever constitutes a "bad location" to be dependable. There seems to be more "bad locations" in my studio than elsewhere, perhaps due to interference from the, um, preponderance of (very important and necessary!) gear I've acquired over the years.

I went cordless last year. However what I did was get a powered usb extension, pluged that into a usb port in the back of my DAW then ran the extension cord up the back of my desk to my desk top and plugged the little mouse usb reciever into that ......the mouse usb reciever is only about 1 to 1.5 foot from the mouse and it is totally out of the way of anything and it works really well.......I am sure you can get one from radio shack for less than 10 bucks....... I think that the position of the reciever is most likely your issue. If you relocate it this may solve the issues. Just my two cents Clifford

Hi, I think it might depend on the mouse ... usually I do not have issues with the Logitech stuff ... but, in my case the wireless mouse I have is from the Microsoft Keyboard/Mouse combo, though I do not use that keyboard, but the mouse works fine and installed itself just fine in W7-Pro 64bit! But yeah ... working on typing and just click here and there is quite different than your DAW runs and you are clicking over it ... could be a problem ... but I really wonder how much of that could possibly be an issue with the video card ... for example ... I had some clickypoos stuff on the XP-Pro machine with that Microsoft Mouse ... and ohhh yeahhhh ???? no issues with the W7 Pro 64 bit ... and it kinda made sense ... this MS mouse came up wayyyyyy after the XP stuff ... that was never good enough with the newer hardware! No issues on W8-Pro machines, but I have not done any music on them ... there were no drivers for the M-Audio card for it so I opted for the W7 machine.
As a wise Guy once stated from his holy chapala ... none of the hits, none of the time ... prevents you from becoming just another turkey in the middle of all the other turkeys!

Just a thought, but cordless input devices operate by radio freqs. If something is interfering with that freq, the mouse will... freak!

Years ago I had a lot of problems with my mouse. It would just lock up at random moments. Most infuriating was that it seemed to fail every time I was on the phone with a customer. Then it hit me: I was talking on a cordless phone while using a cordless mouse! Sure enough, that's exactly what the problem was. I ditched the cordless mouse and haven't considered another one since. Later I was tempted to go with a cordless keyboard. It's awkward reaching over to it when I'm tracking parts on my synths. But I didn't. Instead, I just got an extension cable. Sometimes lower-tech is the better solution. But I never, ever throw towels about anymore. This may come as a surprise, but sometimes when a girl walks out of the showers at a public pool wearing a towel, that's all she's got on. Well, yeh, it seems obvious - now.

My Logitech MX Anywhere cordless mouse works absolutely fine, never had a problem with it. Same with the keyboard. The only problem I ever have with mice is that eventually the left button starts registering two clicks every time I press it. Now that's annoying.
