I WANNA GO!

Hi,

Dig that list ... this is insane and I'm mad! Can't have a good one like this in America!

I'm totally mad!

Music is not about notes and chords! My poem is not about the computer or monitor or letters! It's about how I was able to translate it from my insides!

I suspect if you sell all your albums you'll get enough to get over there.

Just a thought.

Hi,

Weird ... even that pie band was listed! Some really nice combinations on that list, though!

Most of the acts are unfamiliar to me. I will say that The Musical Box is an amazing tribute band for the Genesis fans. They even use all the old vintage gear and costumes, so it's a like a trip in the WayBack machine.

Well, I was just pointing out the fallacy of his observation as it applies now.  It can't be a big deal since every new user's post count is a palindrome until their 10th and it even returns for their 11th, roight?

Here's a few other select palindromes:

BTW - For those keeping track (and we KNOW who you are!), the only bands on that ticket that I don't have albums from are Carl Palmer's (he has about five - all live) and Musical Box (who, apparently, only have one that's mostly talking about Genesis anyway).

I would definitely enjoy those three days!

Hey Steve, I think you should start a band called "People Eating Nuts In Shells" (or similar).  Maybe even "Arena Rock Show Event!"

From the listing:

Mostly Autumn -- one of our friends here has been posting links to this band

Anekdoten -- From Sweden, the band was inspired by King Crimson. It's first 4 albums (from 1993 to 2003) are all excellent, and were near the top of many progressive lists.

Lucifer's Friend -- Usually associated with the heavies (DP/BS/UH/LZ for example), this German band was an oddity in itself ... they could not sell at home, but in Chicago ... they sold really well! What does Chicago know about music that we don't?

Spock's Beard -- Band from LA that has been on the top of many progressive lists for a few years, and their best time was between 1995 and 2005. Very impressive band, specially with Neal Morse in those early days.

RPWL -- Was a Pink Floyd like band, and did a lot of PF material in the early days.

Focus -- Without Jan Akkerman these days and run by Thiijs Van Leer ... But a show this big, I think that Jan might just show up if he is not ill.

Jane -- German band with a very nice set of albums in the 70's that is finding a nice resurgence these days.

Hawkwind -- Ever the saga, with changes and that, it seems that this time around they still have Tim Blake and a couple of the same folks for a few years ... that makes them even better on stage, and they already are very good on stage anyway. Not sure I want to hear "Masters of the Universe" yet again, but I figure Strummy will love to rock out on it!

Magic Pie -- Recently mentioned on the listens here on the board. Very nice stuff.

Carl Palmer's -- Do not know much about it, but not surprised, although this may be now a sort of tribute, and I think it will be emotional as all heck!

The Musical Box -- The one and only Genesis material band, other than Steve Hackett. They are actually very tight and good, and enjoyable, and do albums in their entirety. Looks like they will do "Foxtrot".

These are the only ones I know ... right now. Looking and listening to the others right now, as soon as I can get a spreadsheet finished for Space Pirate Radio ... had mistakes and missing stuff for 1976 and 1977 that I am listening to again. Only about 80 to 90 hours of listening ... can't stop a piece of music or event, now, can we?

Music is not about notes and chords! My poem is not about the computer or monitor or letters! It's about how I was able to translate it from my insides!

Hi,

More details

Friday:
Lion Shepherd (Poland)
(Lights Out is very nice! - )

Subsignal (Germany)
(The Beacon ... awesome start ... so PF but really taking PT for a ride!)

Saturday:
Seven steps to the green door (Germany)
(Different and the soft parts are usually very nice, and it has moods.)

Frequency Drift (Germany)
(Very nice band with a lot of instrumental passages and very nice material, that seems to emphasyze the visual content in the music. Wonderful stuff and must get, though some will not think that this is commercial enough. Wonderful moments and "trips".)

Gens de la Lune (France)
(Francis Decamps in his own group following ANGE in its tradition of solid, and welll put together music. A very theatrical voice and material, he has not lost any of his strength over the past 40 years ... it's still "ecoute ... ecoute ... ". Ever the actor, he has never stopped. While here on the tube, catch the early videos of ANGE on tour, specially in the mid 70's and into the early 80's ... although most of them have terrible quality, at least you can see a bit more of where it came from and most of the ANGE material they are doing.)

Details on the Sunday stuff will be added as soon as I have it.
