I Want You
Hi Everybody, This is the first song off my second album, "Orange Vertigo". I bought the Waves Abbey Road Plate Reverb plug-in last night and I put it on the lead vocal. I appreciate any comments. Thanks, Doug https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=13526549

I especially like the chorus you have on the guitar. Great mix and vocal. The kind of thing I could listen to for hours.

That strumming acoustic guitar had me from the start! I must say, whatever you are using on the plate reverb, I know you mentioned Abbey road, it sounds really great for this style and mix to my ears. You are very talented! Enjoyed hearing this one! Bobby

Great song, very good production, like something I'd hear on the radio. Maybe I'm not hearing all the beats but seemed like the drums sound a bit off in spots, for example around 1:30?

bjornpdx - thanks for the compliments and for listening. Around 1:30 of the song is a drum fill. The drum track overall does have a lot of fills, but I think it works alright. Drum tracks for my songs are always the biggest challenge.

Really nice crisp mix Doug. Good tune too. I get a Tom Petty vibe. I think the drums need tightening up. It's the only thing that needs attention I think. Good job. Yes, I have the AR Reverb. I use it a lot.

Overall, this track has a really nice vibe, reminds me a bit of Oasis or The Shore. The drums are just a tad busy in spots, but they mostly do work okay. Nice guitar work! Regards, Dan

I like this song a lot. Couple things I'd mention though. First, the drum fills aren't a problem in general, but some of them sound slightly "off" (late, mostly?) in timing, compared with the rhythmic strumming of the guitar. Second thing is the mix sounds good but a bit boomy (bass heavy). Maybe a tweak of EQ during mastering? Up to you. :) Overall, great stuff.

Walt Collins - thank you very much for the kind comments. I'll revisit the drum fills and the bass in the mix - see what I can do there.
