I am getting Audio Dropout message, only by switching project - nothing is running!

I have Sonar open with two projects inside, one with material I am copying from and another I am pasting into.

Whenever I click from one project to the other, the Audio Dropout message box pops up, despite the fact that nothing is running.

In previous versions, whenever I switched from one project to another, then hit play, a single tone would sound whilst the cursor moved. Stopping and hitting play a second time would then play normally (others confirmed this behavior at the time). This seems to be solved.

I know this issue well! I have a project full of lighting and fx triggers that I copy to backing track projects. For me it is also connected to an issue where if you switch between 2 open projects and start payback, it will sometimes make a loud buzzing sound, like a short continuous loop that is only fixed by stopping and restarting playback. Most disturbing through a 10 000W line array!

    Here's what I have found:
    1. If I switch between the two projects by clicking on the timeline of the second inactive project , I get either the dropout notification or looping noise issue upon starting playback.

    2. If I switch between the projects by clicking on the project window or using the dropdown menu, I have no issues.

I would love to hear if this applIies to your problem too. Could well be a completely different issue if course.

I haven't had that effect for a while now so I assumed it was fixed.
If you still have it then it's another one of those things that has an obscure cause.

No, I cannot reproduce the short loop effect, not by clicking on the other project's title bar nor by clicking in the project on a track. I only get the Audio Dropout dialog box, consistently, and with both methods.

Maybe on another project. But I am deep in a job right now, so I'll have to defer that to another week.

The audio drop out may have occurred in versions of old. And we didn't notice because a spacebar both gets the audio engine going and starts play.

What we need is an option to suppress that toaster pop-up. It is a nuisances to me as I step through control surface code suspending Sonar. I don't complain as that is an issue unique to individuals like me but since you raised the issue, I'll pile on! :-)

Thanks - interesting that you no longer see this issue.
I still get this consistently on two different systems with different interfaces. It could be some other contributing factor like a plugin that I use in every project of course. Pretty weird that it only happens if I click on the timeline though. I have learned to live with it
    Obviously not a universal problem.
