I was dining in a Waffle House in rural Georgia.  There was another Waffle House on the other side of the road.  Anyway, I was with a couple of Yankees who talked slowly to the waitress, as if it was the only way she could understand them.  When she returned with their order, she dropped their toast on the floor.  She picked up and slapped it back on their plate.  Seeing the look in her eye, my fellow travellers excercised an uncharacteristic amount of wisdom and kept their mouths shut.

My food was excellent.  Good becan.

I like Waffle House.

I was waiting on a client at a fixed base operator air strip one day when Bert landed and was walking thru the waiting room.

I recognized ol Bert (who wasn't our client) from this picture that hangs on every Waffle House wall:

He was in normal civilian business attire but I couldn't help myself; I blurted out "You're Bert... man you run a great operation" He stopped dead in his tracks, composed himself and replied "you are too kind" and with that his handler reached in to his jacket pocket and grabbed a bunch of *Bert Dollars* for us to use on our next visit.

:-)

My colleagues looked at me and said "how'd you do that? How'd you recognize him?" and I replied "Dude, that's Bert... he makes the chili."

Good times.

best regards,
mike

In certain parts of the country, you can live surrounded by Waffle Houses. I'm just sayin'...

I've seen interstate exits around here with a Waffle house on both sides of the road, no kidding. I bet Bob Evans can't touch that!

So, you have been there...

Hah! Sorry, I missed this. I posted before I got to page two... was that on I-85 NE of Atlanta? Then again there is no rural GA within 50 miles of Atlanta...

I cannot eat like that.  I am on a diet.  Here is my paltry breakfast and I am starvin marvin.

Of course, the best diet food for breakfast is Labskaus
If you eat all you want, you will not ingest ANY calories at all.  Believe me, I have eaten (some of) it before.
