I am the one

Remix of a song I posted here a while back. Part of my little musical I am working on where a man rescues a child from a genocidal mob and vows to look after him. ANy feedback on the mix and composition would be appreciated.

Thanks

I like this. Beautiful tune and lyrics.

I thought the drums were a little abrupt when they first came in. But throughout the song, I like them, although maybe a tad loud here and there. But I've only listened twice.

I like that piano and the nice pad background.

    Very nice!!

This is really cool. I can't stop picturing Pete Townshend in my head. You're a ringer for his vocals I tell ya. (Compliment) My favourite of your songs is "Sorry." I listen to it often.

Overall, nice tune. Couple things to look into: the lead vocal sounds very close and shifted to the left; I think lowering the vol, centering it and adding a little 'verb will put it back into the mix. The drums, snare in particular, are kind of spastic, a simple back beat would work.

    Sunny,
Nice to hear your stuff again. I know I am always in for a treat on your stuff. ( Always a lot of thought put into your stuff ).

This is really very nice. I think you must be making some progress on your musical. I really like the incidental instruments, Well choosen. Vocals, Piano work for me!!!

    Hey Sunny,
I really enjoyed this tune. The production of this piece and performance sounds just GREAT. Like that acoustic guitar riff added at 2:20, nice. If you don't mind me asking what mic do you use on the lead vox. GREAT JOB and tune.

Nice song.... I'd like to hear this mixed a bit better.... it deserves it.... the drums sound out of joint with the music.... kinda flat and boring sounding....especially the snare.

You are off to a good start... but I think this needs more work to get it to it's final mix.

Kepp working on it because it's a really good song.

I use my brand new Neumann TLM 103 although I fear that my room is insufficient for such a great mic.

You know? This is not at all what I expected when I clicked the link? I was touched... (and not in the way I enjoy best either). It is really beautiful, deeply emotive.

I can hear the emotion in your voice, and it spoke to me, and touched me. Really a beautiful piece of music. Different from other things I have heard from you. Well done, BRAVO!! Just beautiful.

Sweet! I have a Neuman U87AI, but I have some good acoustic treatments in my "space" where I record my vocals :-) You gotta love the Germans when it comes to technology :-) You can treat your space easily without big $$? All you need to do is have some big stands or something, and hang some blankets? And then sing in to the blankets? Like a V? and you're at the wide part of the V? with the mic? And the blankets do the rest? It's a cheap and good way to deaden your space. I recommend it, but I like that diamond foam too :-)

P.S., blankets can reflect too, so the softer the better...

    Hey Mun,

Beeeeautiful song. Vox seem a tad too much up front but just a listen at the office. I didn't hear any kick drum to speak of, not sure you even want one but just a note. Very nice lyric and soulfully sung.
