I can record with other programs, but not this one
So, I can record with other programs, (Sound Recorder and Audacity) but I can't record with MC3 Cakewalk , also, stuff i have already recorded, MC3 won't play it, it's really weird. All of this happened after I put in a new sound card, i've gone through all the help that comes with the program, and I am still at a loss, even though Windows Media Player will play music, and Audacity will record, MC3 won't. . . please help!!!

Is there any other information that y'all need to help me? I don't know why it's not working. It's frustrating.

What sound card did you install?
Did you enable it for MC in Options>Audio?

Hey RobertB,
Don't you have to run WAV profiler again after you install a new card? If he has not done that, I don't think MC3 will be able to find the card....

Yes, you do.  Cam, what sj said. After that, you should be good to go. You do still need to make sure it it highlighted in Options>Audio. So, what did you get?

Hey, sorry for the long delay, I had to head up to the church to do the usual wed. night stuff!
I got the Dynex - 5.1-Channel PCI Sound Card. I just needed something cheap with a MIC and Line In, cuz i had something unfortunate happen to the standard Mic input on my computer, which I will not be sharing the story of because it's embarrasing lol. But yeah, WAV profiler? how do I run that?

Hey! Good news, I ran the WAV profiler, easier to find than I thought lol, so i ran that, and it approved the sound card and what not, but I still can't arm for recording or listen to something i've previously recorded.

Good deal. You need to restart the program. Go back to Options>Audio, and under the Drivers tab, make sure your new soundcard is highlighted. It should work after that. Let us know. Edit:Never mind. Your last post rolled in while I was typing. Now go make some music!
