I cant access plug ins

I always try to figure stuff out before I ask of others time but I'm stuck
I just installed x2 producer on a new machine,,,windows 7 64 bit,,,with edirol UA-25 EX interface
I went down the list of installers in order
seemed fairly smooth, seems to record correctly and for the most part functioning, but,,,
I cant seem to be able to apply any effects to any track . When I click in Processes it shows Audio and midi effects but nothing happens if I click on them, they are bot greyed out but clicking on them has no effect///
Same thing from Plug-in Manager from the dropdown there is many listed  but clicking on them doesn't do anything
My instincts tell me files are not in right place but I don't know how to determine that

also the soft synths that installed in the ignition installation all work fine but Dimensions Pro is not to be found even though It seemed to install
any help much appreciated,,,thanks  I got Garigus"s book x2 power and tried to figure it out but I am overwhelmed....Its not my nature to ask of strangers but will try my best to return the favor

Right-click in the FX bin of the audio track or drag the effect from the plug-in tab on the browser to the FX bin or add the effects to an FX chain in the ProChannel

Make sure DimPro works as a standalone synth. You will need to run it as administrator to register it.

I never use midi effects - even though I mainly record midi synth tracks.  I apply audio effects to the audio tracks that are playing back the sounds produced by the soft-synths.

As noted above, right-clicking in the F/X bin allows you to add audio effects.  You can also create an effects Bus, or several of them, and route signal to them with the Sends on your audio tracks.  Even there, you would insert the audio effects on each effects bus however you want, using the FX bin.

And, (not sure which products have it - I use Producer), but the Pro Channel is a wonderful way to add effects and such.
