I know it's there somewhere, I installed the XL package, then I went back and re-installed Session Drummer again, and it does not show up in the soft synths pop-up......any idea what I'm doing wrong ?? I've searched everywhere trying to find any mention of it...no luck.... Thanks in advance for any help....

It must be a glitch in Windows 7 RC 64 bit, because when I check it on my XP hard drive, Session Drummer works like a charm........

he's on shs6 Dave - however shs6 won't be guaranteed to work in win7; do you have the 64 bit version of shs6 installed on the win 7 boot? don't know why it wouldn't show up, just check that the sd2.dll is in the program files>cakewalk>vst plugins folder on the win 7 side, and that shs is set to scan on startup...

That's what I'm finding out by testing it on Windows 7 RC, 64 bit. I'm trying to find out if running W7- 64 bit is worth it or not, not everything works with it so don't feel bad. I may have to go with W7-32 bit to keep all my current music programs happy. I had the 64 bit version of SHS6 XL installed, but the effects wouldn't show up. They work fine in the 32 bit version. Only problem I've found so far is with the Session Drummer not showing up. So I'm thinking we will need a SHS8XL to be 100% compatible with Windows 7, 32 bit and 64 bit. I've been busy with family medical problems over the last year and a half, so I'm a little behind the times. So I'm just digging into SHS6 XL now. The more I dig into it, the more fantastic it turns out to be....

djwayne So I'm thinking we will need a SHS8XL to be 100% compatible with Windows 7, 32 bit and 64 bit. I'd say there's an good chance that will happen since the latest release of Sonar Studio and Producer are Win7 compatible and both 32 and 64 bit.

Great !! I've been testing out Windows 7 for quite a while now, and I think it's a great OS and should be very popular. It seems to be very stable, and I'm planning on getting the final version, as soon as it becomes available. I think Windows 7 will be around for a long, long time. When I get it, I'll be installing the 32 bit version as more things seem to work better with 32 bit. After all my music programs are officially updated to be compatible with Windows 7-64 bit, then I may change over, but what the heck, if it's not broke, why fix it ??

Okay I did another test using my old computer which has Windows 7-32 bit installed on it. So Iinstalled SHS6XL 32 bit on that, and all my effects and Session Drummer works like a charm. So as far as I'm concermed Windows 7 64 bit is the culprit. Sooo when I get the store bought version of Windows 7, I'll be using the 32 bit version for now. There just seems to be too many problems with the 64 bit version to be worth it. Thanks for your patience, all my questions have been answered !!
