I can't get Sonar X3 to create a 24 bit new song (Solved)

I have set 24 bit in the driver section (64 double precision)
48 Khz for new projects
I have my windows playback/record set at 48 Khz 24 bit and still new projects will record at only 16 bit.

I have a Roland quad capture audio interface that I have used many times at 24 bit in the past. I recently redid my hard drive.

Is there a way to force it to create a 24 bit file? I don't think I have anything running in the background either.

Go into your preferences, I can't remember which part. Sorry. It might be "project". You're gonna have to look at each individual section to find it. Anyway, you'll see there's a section that let's you choose the bit rate of imports, exports, and new projects. My guess is that's where it's set on 16 bit. Change to 24 and you'll be set.

I don't know how I missed that, I have been aware of that for years and somehow I kept clicking on other parameter tabs and skipping over that one Thanks problem solved!
