The install went just like it was supposed to.
I like the multi pole function.
The piano roll feature seems super cool... I was tweaking some percussion just before installing this and thinking in terms of finding harmonics in the song key to make the percussion sounds seem to feel just right for the song. I'll use the piano roll view the next time I'm doing that sort of work.
I like the extra GUI size options.
The rest of the newness I could have done with out. The moving control panel seems like a distraction. The one click combined Pre Post spectrum analyzer button is gone. The side chain and the EQ match stuff just seems creepy. The freeze stuff seems like more stuff to turn off. The side bar output meter seems redundant and visually distracting considering that the spectrum analyzer is a meter.
The Mid Side stuff is cool. I forget if that was in Pro-Q 1.
I think I would have had a better first impression if the control panel was stationary, not floating over the extra area graph area, and didn't move around when I selected different nodes.
I'd love more hide/show options for and buttons/features I am unlikely to ever use and an option to lock down the control panel.
