I do not think I have ever seen a forum where one could not upload an avatar.

I don't understand why it is taking so long to get this fixed. It seems like someone at CW could call whoever they are PAYING for the forum software and tell them to GET IT FIXED TODAY or give a good explanation of why they cannot fix it. This should not be a problem in 2014, IMO but I guess there are things that I do not understand. Does anyone know why this is a problem that cannot be fixed, someone who understands internet forums. Is there an explanation for dummies? I are one.

Should I just be quiet and mind my business?

Yes and I've seen pigsinfog.com, I was going to buy an APP. Alas, no avatar there either. Seriously, do you have any idea why all of a sudden we cannot upload an avatar. I can use the one I happened to be stuck with when everything changed, I can choose no avatar, or I can use a stock avatar. I'm just wondering what the problem could be. There should be a button or a knob for this, maybe BAPU has a plugin for it?

One month is a bit long, indeed. These forums are strangely dysfunctional despite being somewhat rudimentary.

The strength of these forums has always been the users. In terms of usability and features, it's pretty basic and rather weak.

Having recently started to hang out on the SG forums a bit, the Facebook user in me was glad to find a "like" button - it seems a nifty way to acknowledge/provide positive feedback for message without having to type an answer. I admit that I tend to use the "helpful" button here for that purpose.

Truth be told they are working on an idea that was developed by Straummy and Bapsi...that of having one singular avatar for everyone which would consist of each user's individual head shot superimposed on my bucolic visage. Although I personally think it's a swell idea and I'm terribly flattered, I take no ownership in the plans inception or implementation. That is strictly Cake...Gibson's idea and doing. My thinking, however, is that once everyone accepts it, and then grows to love it, the yearning for an "individual avatar" will wane.

    Bill, possibly, excluded:-)

Where you come from is gone...where you thought you were goin to weren't never there...and where you are ain't no good unless you can get away from it.

yes it's rubbish. no video embedding, bizarre quote behaviour, rudimentary smilies, avatar and picture size limits...

and this is way better than the previous version!
