I downloaded Triangle II (VST), and can't use it in Sonar
When I try to insert the Triangle II soft synth into my Sonar X1 project, I get this error message: "failed to insert soft synth. The synth may not be properly installed". Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Are you seeing this VST in Plugin Mgr.? Re-scan & check in Plugin Mgr. to make sure you see it as a VST.....if you do see it, then add it to the softsynth folder & save it. (What steps have you taken in installing this?)

Then I went into X1 and rescanned VSTs, and it showed up in my synth plugins. Then I tried to insert it as a simple instrument track. That's when I got the error message.

Update: I just took the dll, without installing it, and put it in my VSTs folder, and rescanned VSTs. Then Triangle II showed up in my instruments. I was able to create a simple instrument track for it, but.... All other instrument tracks got mysteriously routed to the Triangle track. Things went downhill from there, e.g. X1 stopped outputting any audio, etc... I'm about to give up on Triangle II, unless someone can explain how I can get it running in X1. Even though I have a large arsenal of synths, including Rapture, z3ta, Pentagon, Zebra, Ace, I still miss having Triangle. It's unique.

What works for some, is to run SONAR as an administrator, by right clicking on the SONAR X1 icon on the desktop and selecting run as administartor.

Try downloading the file again. Maybe something got fudged up there.

And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.

I just downloaded Triangle II from here: http://www.cakewalk.com/products/triangle/Default.asp I installed the VSTi version in SONAR X1 Producer, and it's working fine. As AT stated, maybe you got a corrupted copy. Try downloading from the link I posted, uninstall any old versions, install the copy from the link above, and see how it goes. By the way, I didn't catch what operatibg system you are using. Do you have User Account Control on? If you do, try turning it off, restarting the computer, uninstalling old, re-installing the VSTi version from link above, and try running it again in X1.

Hi, I've run the installer for Triangle using the T2111.exe found at /products/triangle/Default.asp and not finding any .dll for it anywhere that I can see. I'm on Windows 7 Pro 64-bit (not yet on service pack 1, but all other updates installed), Sonar X1c Producer (x64) running on Bootcamp 3.2 on a MacBook Pro. Only thing installed that I find is: C:\Program Files (x86)\rgcaudio Triangle II With subfolders: \MIDI \Presets \User Manual Curious where it gets installed successfully for other Win7-64/X1-64 users. Is there a .dll somewhere? Triangle II appears in my "Insert/Soft Synth" submenu, but it seems like it's been there since I installed X1. I've set up paths to all VST/VSTi locations on my drive for both the Cakewalk Plug in Manager and the VST Configuration Wizard and scanned as each of them seem to need the paths set up independently, but still not finding any Triangle II....

pfoxsounds Hey Clifford, Sorry, I never figured this one out. Best, -Paul Paul I have some good news ....................................................................and I have some bad news............... Bad news: I still cannot get Triangle to work in X1 Good News: I did find the .dll file (which I will be happy to send to you and anyone else.....just PM me) Bad News: I scanned my vst folders several times last night after finding the .dll file and placing it in my VST Folder yet Triangle will not show up in my VST list in the Plug in manager...... Good News: Triangle Does show up in my VSTi list in my Plug in manager Bad News: Triangle still will not show up in VST list of Plug in Manager even after several re scans and still will not work in X1 even with Bit Bridge running and me pointing to it..... Good News: Triangle does work in my OTHER DAW.................. You know the one...... it rhymes with "Creeper" So the bottom line is ... I have no idea of why X1 will not see it.....I have no idea of why X1 does not want to play nice with Triangle.... But I did get it to work in another DAW.... This is strange to me because Triangle belongs to Cake and not ................. Go figure! :-) Let me know if you (or anyone else needs help I ... Just PM me) Clifford
