I get sound from my VST instruments, but I can not play them from my MIDI keyboard

Hi,

I hope there is someone who can help me!
To explain it briefly, I get sound from my VST instruments, but I can not play them from my MIDI keyboard.
This arose after I reinstalled my sound card
 
The other day I got a problem with my sound card. I tried to adjust the sound card frequency 96 to 48 kHz. Which did not work. I was up all the time error audiodg.exe run.

After much work back and forth, and the installation of the sound card, I concluded that it was the USB cable that did not work as it should.

Now that I've got my sound card to work, I get no sound from my VST instruments!?
I can not play my VST instruments from my MIDI keyboard. My VST instruments can play audio. I know when I opened an old project, but I get no sound from them when I try to play the plugs via MIDI!?

I know I've had a similar problem before and managed to solve it, but I can not remember how I managed to fix the error

    Few things to check.........

    The input on the MIDI track is assigned to your keyboard
    The output on the MIDI track is assigned to the synth
    The synth output track is assigned to your master buss
    Your master buss is assigned to your soundcard main out
    The input echo button on the MIDI track is lit
    Finally check that audio engine is running. The icon in the bottom left corner of the transport display should be lit, if not click on it.


    One or more of those should sort it out.

    Just to follow up on what I have come up with...
    Well, I had done all that was on the list already late last night, which did not help. What I think is that I had a bad and cheap USB / MIDI interface and its driver got Sonar to not behave as it should.
    I have got everything to work now as it should, after reinstalling all devices
