I get the dog.....
I get the dog. Rough. http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=12448754 I'd like to produce this and make it all shiny and everything. And then I think, What for. I like it 'as is'. Maybe 'insert famous country star name' could do that. Comments appreciated.

She got the gold mine... You got the pooch. I love my dog. People ask me if I'm in a committed relationship? And I say, "No, I'm happy." The guitar sounds great, good job on the vocals too. What kind of guitar is that, and how was it recorded?

Awesome song. The lyrics of a hit song. I like it as is too. Great guitar work and vocals. I don't know if it needs anything more....but when you say you were thinking of making a shiny production out of it, makes me wonder what you were thinking of?

Yeah, leave it be. Not my thing really, but it sounds like it ought to. BTW If anyone is in doubt if your wife or your dog is your best friend, lock them both in the garage for the day and see which one is still pleased to see you when you open the door ! ;)

This is ironic, since one of my last songs I wrote included the hook line. "She took the house, the car, and the dog." (My Hard Earned Money) At least you got the dog and the truck! A very Randy Neumann vibe. Very nice. Daryl

Thanks guys. Yea, this was just a reference recording while I was writing it. Nothing fancy on the recording. It's a Martin D-28 I've had for like 40 years. Just miced it and hit go. Geno, thanks. I just mean, drums and bass and keys and elec guit, philharmonic orchestra etc. You know, a production..:) Or, usually, a way to ruin a good song. LOL... Good one Paulo. HA.. Thanks Yea, Daryl, I remember hearing that and thinking the same thing. I wrote this years ago. So, well, you know... Thanks Thanks Mike. Yea, that would be my preferred outcome.. Thanks Mr. Frank Thanks Robbbbaay

I think you should produce this, because it's such a cool song, with a great title, and hook. and because your productions are always expertly done... just cause...

No I believe you'd do an excellent job actually. However, I also believe Mr. Maaaaaaay could knock it out of the park. No reason for him to farm it out, he has that whole mixing thing down cold. Others like me get lucky sometimes (as Mr. Petty would say) But I cannot produce consistently good mixes, it's hit or miss, and usually the latter.
