X3 is not available anymore. Look into the Artist, Professional, Platinum versions.

AFAIK, SONAR X3LE is still bundled with some hardware. I have no idea if it is available for the asking.

LE products are free with hardware and provide a way to get into a full Sonar product via an upgrade. You can't upgrade to another LE product.

LE is not worth using. Use it to upgrade.  I own LE and have tried to use it and you are better off with Sonar 6 even.

I recommend Music Creator 7 over any LE version.  MC7 costs around $20, and works much in the same way as Sonar.  You're "limited" to 32 audio tracks, 8 instrument and 128 midi tracks, but if you can't create a finished production with that, then you should probably find another hobby.  Unlike some other junior DAW versions, MC7 supports 3rd-party VST instruments and FX (including VST3).

    Don't know where else you'd get a full-fledged DAW for under $20....

SonarPlat/CWbBL, Win 10 Pro, i7 2600K, Asus P8Z68 Deluxe, 16GB DDR3, Radeon HD5450, TC Electronic Impact Twin, Kawai MP11 Piano, Event ALP Monitors, Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro, Too Many Plugins, My lucky hat.
