I got a double D chassis punch on ebay!!!
Yeah Baby, I've been looking for 6 months. They sell for $300+ new and I finally found a nearly new one being surplussed from some R-n-D lab at a affordable buy-it-now ebay price.  Now I can punch the correct hole in my amp chassis and the plastic strain relief will not squirm around as much.  I feel pretty. :-) Thanks for listening Steve!!! :-) best regards, mike

Mike I am impressed. I have built many projects and always had problems with that hole! I have usually made some attempt to file into shape but your punch would be spot on. I can appreciate it! Can I borrow it next time I need to make that hole?  Actually I have given up making things now. Not enough time and plenty of things out there already that you don't have to build.

Can you do an A/B comparison of the holes?

I used to have a full set of the Greenlea punches but somebody stole them. I'm using carbide hole saws now because the punches have a ROI of something like 100 years for me. Most people want the chassis mount IEC power connector because that's what the name brand stuff uses.
I don't think anything is better than a good quality power cable hardwired to the chassis. Most don't bother because it's too expensive and ship amps with computer cables.
I've got 5 chassis to punch. Could we meet half way?
