I got the Waves invite

I've no idea what it means but I'm sure it's right up your street.

To include the Waves plugs in my extant street corner schtick (as you so eloquently described it above).

I'd love to do it but I'm on a road to nowhere.

As a Street Rep, will you be able to answer questions such as why does it take 30 seconds to insert my newly-acquired Waves Trans-X plugin? Is it calling the mother ship every time?

That's odd. I've just tested mine and it works just as quick as any plug-ins.

Reminds me. Why on demo videos do the plug-ins always load instantly? Mine all sit there thinking about whether they should make an appearance or not.

I thought it might be a difference between VST and Audio Unit, but I went back and tested the VST in Studio One - loads in a blink.

I'm pretty sure Dave Pensado got that invite as well.

Yeah but don't you feel more speshiller having an official invite?

Makes me wanna spend $eleventy jillion to become one too.

I think everyone got the mail. An application form to apply to be that, but Waves decides who will be.

I got the invite as well and I don't even own any waves stuff!  at least not that I recall.  I don't have an iLok, so???

Here are your first Street Rep Questions.

1. On the Waves Universe site...what is the difference between a TDM and a Native Plug in?

2. I'm thinking about the "Native Power" Bundle. what I am looking for is a good all around general or universal set of plugs for general type of track sound shaping......would this be a good start?

TDM runs on Pro Tools' proprietary hardware. More expensive (but it also contains the native versions). Unless you see a case where the TDM version is cheaper - it can happen on very rare occasion - stick w/ native.


NPP is a nice place to start, depending on what you need. I tend to prefer to spend my money on things that are more "unique" and have more of a personality than a basic set of bread and butter type of plug-ins - those are usually pretty well covered by the stuff you get bundled w/ your DAW software.


The Musician Bundles 1 and 2 are also a nice (and inexpensive) place to start. I'd probably opt for these as I prefer the Renaissance EQ and Compressor to the classic C1 and Q10.

I was hoping that this was going to be the answer.....so Native it is....
 
I do need a bread and butter set of plugs....I only have the plugs that come with Sonar and think it may be time to expand a little.....I still am thinking about that FabFilter combo of the Pro series.....but I do not have that much mula......and along comes the waves on sale and no ilok.....So this may be a good place to start.....Once I have a nice set of B & B plugs then I can reach out and get some more creative tools....But I need to start at the bottom right now and build.
