I have Sonar Platinum and I believe I accidentally deleted the Track EQ plugin

Hi, Sonar Platinum user here. I did one of the dumbest things I could do, and accidentally deleted the plugin for the quadcurve eq that's built into every track. Is there any way I could find it somewhere?

The QCEQ dll is in the "Shared Utilities\Internal" folder. Pretty hard to delete it without deleting other important files. Re-run the Platinum installer or better still upgrade to Cakewalk by BandLab. The upgrade will restore the QCEQ along with updating the rest of the shared files and an upgraded DAW. To do so create a BandLab account using the same email address as your Cakewalk account and follow the CbB install instructions using BandLab Assistant. When done, both Platinum and CbB will be available.

    How "deleted" is it?
    AFAIK, it should be in...
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Cakewalk\Shared Components\Shared Utilities\Internal\PCS-GlossEQM.dll
    ...in a default installation.

Are you saying that the PCS-GlossEQM.dll isn't there anymore?

That is the default path for a 32bit install. The 64bit would be in "Program Files."

The QCEQ dll is in the "Shared Utilities\Internal" folder.

Did the name change...or am I looking at the wrong dll?

Sorry...I'm still stuck back on 32 bit...which is impeding my uptake of the 64 bit only BandLab editions.

I did not provide the QCEQ dll file name PCS-GlossEQM.dll in my post.

First, tell us why you believe you deleted it? What steps did you take?

Usually you have to try pretty hard to delete a plug-in completely, you have to go to the directory where the .dll file is and delete that. It's not something that could happen by accident without a bunch of other bad things also happening.

Is it possible this user (being new) may be referring to deleting the plug in within Sonar Platinum and not the actual DLL.
It may also be a default pro channel settings (what is shown) and not the plug in gone itself.
    More info is needed.

I thought of that. Removing the QCEQ from SONAR Platinum is pretty hard to do. IIRC, there was a time duckbar had an option to remove it but doing so resulted in stability problems. The QCEQ is not optional. While it looks like a regular PC module, it is more integrated into the DAW.

It may also be an issue with per-track EQ projects from 8.5 or older.

More info from the OP would be nice.

You can also exclude it using the Plug-in Manager, remove from a layout, etc.

I wonder if this is going to be one of these "we need more information before we can help" inquiries where the user vanishes forever.
