I hope Cake enables Aim Assist for track buses

I just went to submit a feature request and from the autocomplete entry in the form's title field, I see that I already did

This seems like one of those things about X2 that is "unfinished." Aim Assist is great and I use it all the time. It's especially important for me when working on intricate effect automation. But for some reason, when you're working on a bus lane, Aim Assist doesn't work. I sometimes do effect automation on buses too. I'll be very peeved if X3 comes out and we still don't have Aim Assist in the buses.

I don't think Aim assist was for automation. I look at it as a helpful clip navigation/placement tool.

Although I think John may be correct, it could be convenient to see the Aim Assist line in the bus pane too, at least as an option.

But personally, I would prefer the ability to move busses up with tracks instead.

    I agree.

Many's the time I've been trying to align notes on a bus envelope, referencing a track envelope for placement, and it's well nigh impossible.

That's when the OCD really kicks in

The documentation says: "Aim Assist is a helpful guide when editing in the Clips pane and Piano Roll, making it easy to align the mouse pointer with events on different tracks or markers in the time ruler."

I guess by "editing" they could mean both clips and automation. There is certainly no reason why automation editing would require any less degree of accuracy. But by "clips pane" they definitely mean the clips pane, which does not mean the bus pane. Still, they must have made a conscious decision to disable Aim Assist while in the bus pane, and this seems ludicrous considering that there are automation lanes on buses.

I doubt they intentionally excluded it from the bus pane, rather that the bus pane itself is independent of the clips pane.   That's why I'd like to see an option to remove that separation and freely combine the two in the UI.  I  can imagine it's a big task though...  so yeah, maybe extending the Aim Assist line is more doable.
