I just blew this out of my nose
I've been sick recently...a bout of sore throats and bunged up sinuses which subsequently led to me being diagnosed with strep throat (must have caught it off of the girlfriend a couple of months ago) and I was given a big penicillin shot up in the backside. So I've been on the mend for a week. But I've been a bit sniffly ever since and have been blowing a lotta snot out. Anyway, without wanting to gross anyone out too much, today I blew my nose and these 6 what-looks-like little seeds came out. They're really tiny, I would say a little smaller than a chia seed. This is about the best shot I could get of one of them (after having cleaned it up a little). Does this ring any immediate bells with anyone? I'm paranoid that something crawled up there in the night and laid eggs or something. What could they be? I've never blown anything like this out before. Sorry about the poor quality, it's zoomed all the way in.

UPDATE: I think it actually is a chia seed! I just took a look at some....I sprinkle them on my granola every day. But how in the hell did one end up in my sinuses?

My first thought -- 'Alien Abduction'.
Abducted and had seeds planted up you know where - butt managed to blow some seeds out of your nose possibly averting the risk of mutating into an 'Alien Grey' complete with dark eyes, skinny long arms and legs, a pot belly and major hair loss. I guess chia seeds are really light and sitting on top of your granola. It makes sense to me that you are breathing in as you take a bite and some are making it up into your nose. OR... since you've had a sinus infection they could have been sticking in your throat somewhere when you swallow. Being so small perhaps they will just sit on some mucus or something else mucus and then when you blow your nose or sneeze they could easily get into your sinus cavity from the bottom. I doubt that they are causing anything more than curosity. You could make a concious effort to not breathe in when you take a bite... or drink something after eating granola, maybe gargle a bit of water... probably fix it right up. I thought it might be something like that. Well it must be, because I blew out a freaking lentil this afternoon, after having lentil salad for lunch. It has to have something to do with the recent sickness - strep and sinus infections. What a weird thing the human body is. However I'm not going to worry until I start pulling spaghetti from my eyes or something.
