I just bought this!!!
I was cruising on Craigs list after listing something there for sale.... switched to musical instruments to see what was available locally. I was actually searching for a tele.... but didn't find any...then I saw this>>> Picked it up today.... for less then what a tank of gas costs these days....literally! Now I got some learning to do on something that has frets smaller then my fingers above the 12th fret. It's the FM-100...basically a decent beginner level instrument.

Cool!! I got a Rogue brand (musician's friend) one really cheap a while back. I have the worst time tuning it, especially with the non-fixed bridge. I learned REM's Losing My Religion and wrote a part for a song of mine and that's about as far as I got!

I remember that song from my country rocker days Jon.... I'll be digging out lots of mando stuff here in the next few weeks..... I might even have to listen to some.....dare I say it?.... bluegrass. Actually I like certain kinds of bluegrass music....

Great buy, Herb. I have never understood how anyone can play one of those things, but they do, and some quite well.

Hey Herb! Your photo just reminded me of a mandolin I have at home that needs to be refurbished. It belonged to my great grandfather. I used it as a toy when I was a wee lad. After doing some research yesterday I found out it's a 1939 K-70 made by Kay. Looks like the one pictured below but not quite as good in condition. When do we get to hear your 1st recording?
