I just realized....
I went to Texas for the weekend to Dallas.... They say everything is bigger in Texas That is one big city. I'd hate to be there when the zombie apocalypse starts.

Dallas is big! and it's only one of the cities in that big "metroplex" area. too bad you couldn't make it to the party! we had about 65 or 70 people show up! we took up about 1/2 of the restaurant!

That's no way to escape the heat of an un-air conditioned studio.

[quoteThat is one big city. ] It was quite the culture shock for me when I moved from northern MN to Dallas 25 years ago. It was a little cooler up there as well.

Road kill, boy isn't that the truth. Scary part is that I could become road kill if I was to hit a moose.

Mike.... I'm kicking myself big time.... I mean BIG TIME... I said Dallas but the town where my daughter's future husband is from is Mesquite. Just off the interstate near Galloway. My wife and I stayed at the Hampton in Rockwall.... just on the other side of Ray Hubbard reservoir. It would have been nice to stop in to visit or have a cuppa java somewhere.

Well shoot Herb, you were just a hop and skip away from me this weekend. I should have known to ask where you were going in Dallas, I assumed down town somewhere. Mesquite is not very well known except for the Mesquite Rodeo. Yes, it would have been fun to hook up. Java would have hit the spot. Did you get to see the Blue Bonnets? Next weekend is suppose to be the peak, I believe. I need to get over to Ft. Worth and meet Reese face to face one of these days, maybe meet up for a plate of bacon. :) He has invited me to a songwriters gathering on a couple of occasions, but have not been able to make it so far. BTW I got an acoustic track recorded over the weekend as you suggested. I am still working on an additional vocal track. I will get something back to you early this week.

I've been to Dallas three times. Didn't like it. It's just too congested for my taste. In Fort Worth, they say the East ends in Dallas. I've been all over the metroplex, and I think Azle is my favorite part. It's on the edge, and somewhat isolated from the rest of the city.

Probably about an hour and a half drive from where Herb was in Mesquite!
