I absolutely loooove his designs. On listening to his audio demos tho I'd caution anyone thinking of buying to really listen to the guitar before buying. Some are just great. Others actually sort of...well...suck IMHO in the tone department. But many sound just fab and (at least to me) they look it too. Dern yor hide for showin em to me.
Hey Spacey...do you build semi-hollowbodys like 335's and such. I've got my eye on a new Taylor T3B but tell me what you got, lad.
Man I'll sure back you up on the sound quality issue...I few clips I listened to were very bad.
His attitude towards design is my attraction. I really got a kick at his machine placement as if guitarist don't
have enough trouble tuning LOL..
By the sound I'll say he's losing the energy from the neck and that combined with his
cavities, which I imagine are quite large for his custom pickups, it yields for a thin, narrow frequency range
on the ones I listened to. The one that was demonstrated at an equipment show was very questionable too.
I've started building guitars because of
John Page....and the desire. I'm honored that you'd inquire but I don't build to sell for profit.
I'm a beginner just trying to learn. I built myself a Strat, a bass for Bapu and I'm currently doing the Tele for Grant. They purchased the
material with the option of not excepting the instrument....I'm currently working on my self-esteem too, lol.
I wouldn't send one out if I didn't think it was good but that doesn't mean the same to everyone.
I do have one to build after Grants.
If you'd like to talk more you're welcome to PM me.
I've been planning on building myself a Tele and semi-hollow has sure been a thought and it would be my first semi-hollow.
I use to play a 347 and loved it until it got a "Z" in the neck...bummer. Great sounding guitar. It was a fancy 335.
