I must be an idiot. How do you add automation onto a bus?

Wow, I've just wasted 15 minutes trying to figure this ridiculously simple task out. The "help" manual has, once again, not helped at all. Maybe it's just sleep deprivation and my inability to concentrate. I don't know, but it's freaking me out!

What kind of automation? Volume? If so, right click the volume slider for the bus and make sure Automation Write Enable is checked. You can do the same thing with other controls like pan and send.

Don't forget to disable Automation Write Enable when you are done with it.

You can also right click the pane to the right of the bus.

Only 15 minutes?  Forum rules require at least 6 hours and tossing your computer from a second story window first before posting. :? Don't feel bad, Sonar can do this to you.
