I need a NEW Amp

I have this AVT 275 Marshall. I don't have the 4 12 cabinet anymore and the speakers in this amp just don't sound good. I remember long ago I used a Fender bassman 100 watt head that was awesome. I would like a 60's something Marshall stack but the clubs around here are small (250 capacity av) and it's probably too big. I need to go into a store and spend the day on everything!  Fender Pro is good.

You could get a 50 watt Marshall, or a 100 watt with a master volume.  I have 4 Marshalls and I use an attenuator on them.  My 100 watt head has no master volume and is too loud to play over 1 on the volume.  But with the attenuator I can put the volume all the way up and still have a comfortable room volume with all the good tone and distortion.

If you're interested, I have a Mesa Boogie BlueAngel which is really good for blues (buttery clean tones) that's in mint condition and I'm the only owner.

It's a good time to be looking since there are sooooo many nice low-watt amps that have come out just in the last couple of years!

Keep your eye on Craigslist.  You'll occasionally find one that's not overpriced.

Well, I'll toss in my 2 cents and tout Egnater's latest offerings.  They've got  20, 30 and 60 watt versions in head only and combo models (as well as larger 100 watt rigs).  I've got the Rebel 20 head/cab rig and it is just about as good as Aunt Fay's ambrosia...and that's gooooooood!!!  May be the best amp I've ever had (and, yea, I've had a bunch).  Go play em.

I love the low wattage amps. My Studio 22 boogie is sweet. It will get fairly loud but on a stage, it is just about right..... If you need more volume, just line out to a 100w stereo power amp and stack up a few cabs and you can rock with the biggest, baddest loudest amps on the block.

Carry it home and play on lower settings with ease....and still keep that sweet tone without breaking the crystal.

I doubt I would ever buy anything over 30W even if I decided to go back to gigging again.

I've got an old black face Pro Reverb head if your interested.
Thing about it is, I don't think Fender made a head only Pro. i think someone along the line cut the bottom off.

Hehe...  I've got one of those that was used for a Vegas show (a spoof on 80's hair guitar).

    Front:  http://www.nwdreamer.com/Pics/StudiosAndGear/Old/Studio/fakestack.jpg

    Back:  http://www.nwdreamer.com/Pics/StudiosAndGear/Old/Studio/fakestack2.jpg

It folds up real nicely and was worked into the show where we moved it from one side of the stage to the other because the soundman thought it would look better.  Behind it was a small speaker.  Got a good laugh.

I actually did that for a solo my son did in 1993 using a mini Marshall amp. I used an SM-57 too.
