I need a percussion library that has a SILKY bar chime preset...
Anything out there? For Kontakt? Or with it's own GUI?

If you have Superior or Ez Drummer they have a nice percussion library. Usually on Amazon for 39 bucks.

Do you mean like the wind chimes? as in a chromatic row of them or the singular orchestral one hit one tone ones? I would suggest FXpansions percussion expansion but you won't get that for $39. Still it has some fantastic flexatones if you ever feel the need for them :) You can listen to each kit piece here. I should also point out that there have been reported problems with some of the kit pieces not playing properly on fxpansions web page and low and behold the wind chimes are one of them They don't play like that in the real version. Nothing available in the standard Sonar or Kontakt synths? Nothing in FM8 works for you? Seems like just using a patch with FM modulations would do the trick and not cost you anything. Don't know how exactly realistic it has to sound but you could get some nice tones. Ken

I looked at the chrome-o-phone thingy and, like Mike, thought the demos sounded pretty good but then I remembered the same thing for String Studio too. If you don't add alot of effects and processing to the internal sounds it's strictly plinky plunkville. Omnisphere it ain't. That little Chime Collection from precisionsounds was exactly what I've been looking for. You'd think that with all the drum packages and what-not I've got I'd have a collection of decent bar chimes...but no. Used to have a killer chime in my old Roland TD10 module (long gone now). But for $19 semolians...I couldn't be happier:-)

Y. O. P. You should be able to do this in Omnisphere, at least come close, and I seem to remember that you have Omnisphere. I'm not able to do Omni right now(surgery), but I'd start with the upper registers of a church bell or an E.Piano or a Vibraphone sounding patch, and go from there. I also suspect that one of the gamelian (sp?) patches might get you started... Tony S
