I need a pitch envelope-Does such a thing exist?

Hi,

I am doing some audio FX and I am in need of a pitch envelope. I have the CakeWalk Pitch Shifter in AFX but it does a uniform operation on the whole clip. If I change the tempo, the player marker moves faster but the pitch stays the same. I would like to have my audio clip play faster directly proportional to the tempo but this doesn't seem to work. In reality, if you played a clip faster then the pitch should go up. Of course, the output sample rate should stay the same so the the faster tempo should use the input waveform to construct an output waveform with higher pitch. Does this make sense? Does anyone know how to do this with Sonar Producer? I have 8.5
Apparently, tempo only affects MIDI tracks and audio clips are always played at nominal rate.

Dimension Pro and Rapture both have pitch envelopes (as well as pan, volume, resonance and cutoff envelopes).  You could add the clip to a DimPro element as a WAV multisample.  Playing middle C on a midi keyboard or in PRV would play the clip back at the correct pitch.  Then you can mess around with the pitch envelope and other effects.

I have never thought of trying this before, but the idea seems to open up a lot of possibilities.  Hmmm...

For all tracks? At the same time?

For how long? And does it return to normal?

For midi: could draw pitch wheel changes.

For audio: split the clip a lot and increase pitch/shorten length for each.

If not needed to play in sonar in real time: mix to audio and use the Moosick player in real time to change tempo/pitch while recording the output.

Which versions of Celemony can do this?

A pitch shift plugin which can be automated could do what you want. The Sonar pitch shifter plugin cannot be automated.
If you can find one that can, you can then draw an envelope for it.
If you would like that envelope to be controlled, in rhythm, like on a synthesizer, I have a method for that too..using an external LFO program. Ask if you want more info.

I was successful in putting the sound into Dim Pro. I drew a pitch envelope. The sound played when I played a "note" but there was not pitch change. Maybe I am not enabling it somehow. I will work on it some more.

It is really a SciFi sound effect I am trying to generate...nothing to do with music.
