Do you know about The Free Sound Project? If not - you need to go there and register. It's a great place with users posting samples they've recorded. Most are in .wav format. You can play those in the SFZ player that comes with Cakewalk, you don't have to have a Sound Font.
Here's the site where I found a nice crowd stomping sound that I used in a project of mine. It's just the stomping. If you really need vocal crowd sounds too, you would layer those in on another track. The sound I used was found with the search terms "crowd stomping."
You'll need to register (free) to use the sounds. Once you do, just be sure not to save the MP3 demos. You click a sound you like and that takes you to a page with just that sound on it. Right click on the upper right hand corner "Download," and you'll get the highest resolution available for the given sound.
