Decide on what elements you want to see on your first screen. Personally I have the inspector and trackviews on screen 1, screen 2 has the mix console, screen 3 has some mastering plug-ins all open.

There's no right or wrong. It depends on how you work and what you want to see. I personally use screenset one as a general purpose overview. See this post for more info on the way i use them and a few ideas.

I'm not sure if you know ctrl+number saves your current settings to an unlocked screenset. To tell the truth I usually go with defaults and the just flip things around to how I need them. I don't spend a lot of time twiddling screensets. I also forget them and change them so casually that they are never reliably one thing or another unless I'm actively flipping between a pair of them.
StudioCat > I use Windows 10 and Sonar Platinum. I have a touch screen. I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.

I use the defaults and I notice that they seem to be saved with each project. Someday when I'm real bored I promise I'll customize a few, But so far the defaults work fine.

It's all about your particular workflow. Just experiment and see what works best for you.
Remember that any screen/view/window that you open is automatically saved in the current screenset and anything that you close becomes no longer part of that screenset. So once you have found some configuration that you want to return to later, switch to a different screenset before opening, closing or rearranging any views.

I came up with a screenset that I really like, but this is hardly universal...it just works well with my particular workflow. All the screensets are locked except 7 and 8. 1 Max Tracks - browser and inspector hidden, track view, narrow tracks to fit as many as possible on the screen 2 Max Console - console with all channel strips set to narrow, inspector open, browser hidden 3 Wide Console - Console with all channels strips set to wide, inspector and browser hidden 4 Max Editing - makes the interface more like a waveform editor, e.g., Sound Forge, inspector closed, browser open for dragging in plug-ins 5 MIDI piano roll - Fills the screen with the piano roll 6 Matrix view - Matrix view occupies the lower 3/4 of the screen, with track view visible behind it...good for songwriting. 7 Blank for temporary usage 8 Blank for temporary usage 9 Loop construction view 0 Mastering

I sometimes set up a view for different instrument sections, such as just drums, guitars, vocals etc. This way, i can usually set all associated console views to wide tracks/busses. Console is docked so it's a quick 'D' to shift to Track View and back again for console. I also have one set up to contain all my midi tracks, each track docked permanently in the multidock, making it easy to switch to a different track when composing/editing.

If the OP is looking for ideas and suggestions for screensets, then he needs to tell us about his setup. It makes a difference whether he is using a single screen, two screens, more than two, one large screen or a laptop.

chuckebaby I create templates https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sJmu4pqZthU I made this video to show the power of templates/ there awesome and keep all your screen sets saved with the template.
Thanks Charlie! It should be noted that this is applicable not only to Sonar X2, but to X3. As well as to others genres other than rock; i.e. country, folk, blues etc. Charlies also correct in mentioning that Sonar comes with a boatload of ready to use templates that can be modified to your own particular tastes. Sonar templates are easy to use and to change and as Charlie points out in his video easy to make from scratch.
