I need to start listening to more funk...

I stumbled across this performance completely by accident the other day and can't stop watching it. http://www.youtube.com/wa...eT9uUk&feature=related

Oh and it's Tower of Power BTW. It's all good but at the end they RIP into What Is Hip. Like I mean REALLY RIP into it... and that's coming from a thrash metal freak.

and of course....  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hiIBwu2mjs0  not as funky but full of soul.

I hated disco but some nasty funk was pretty cool stuff.

Ah disco. Taking funk and stripping out all the good stuff so as not to offend the sensibilities of those with no soul. Thanks for the links. I was planning on digging up some P-Funk... but man that ToP horn section makes me wish I had stuck with the trumpet when I had the chance in school.
