I need you.

Here's one I just wrapped up and decided I like it.
I guess it would be considered a love ballad. (No fuzz here).
So nice to work with just 2 tracks.

I Need You
comments good or bad welcome.

    Hey Tim,
GREAT song/lyrics/performance.  Two tracks of really clean full sound.  I don't know why but I've been on a high for simplicity mixes here lately. Your vocal delivery was smooth.  I really like the space you have created on this piece.  If you don't mind me asking what was your vocal chain. GREAT mix really shows off your talent.

Simply lovely performances and song. Really nicely recorded. I know it was probably intended and I like the warmth it adds but I hear a bit of distortion.

Tim, Great song, performance and mix. No crits here. Chord progression is quite colorful, not your everyday pop ballad chords. Very good. Like it a lot, maybe Delilah will play it on her show.... Regards

re: "I need you" First, "we'll have to be discrete??" I have an image to maintain. I figure what triggered this was my walkin round in woman's underwear tune? You want to be Melvin? I get it... Whoa man! Let's wait until the wife is outta town.

Great vocals and keys on this one. You're one of the people we can all really look up to.

Thanks Kev. My main mic is an AKG C3000 (cheap condenser).
    I usually eat the mic.
That and waves RCL comp and sonitus EQ (just rolled off the lows from around 180hz down and a small wide dip around 3k).
(pretty much all I ever use.)
    I just looked again.
A little Waves IR convolusion Verb (St. johns church) and a touch of waves doubler.
The keyboard is a DimPro patch.

Grant, Thanks man. No, i didn't intend any distortion. But, I do hear it and like it:) (wherever it came from).

Thanks Mark. Pretty much a 1 6 2 5 progression. But, I tried to add some interesting color to it. Glad you liked it. Thanks. I had to google wikipedia for Delilah:) Anyway, yea that would be cool. You know, she has 12 kids:)

    Timidi,
Beautiful song and performance!  Perfect mood.  I imagine a foggy night up the coast (California coast by Monterey) sittin' in some bar or restaurant looking out over a sunset wishing that special someone was there with me.  Love it.

Very nice! I'm jealous of all you guys that can sing. Punks. lol!

This is very good. It's hard to find a good Rhodes. Definitly a sappy tune that will get the wife/girlfriend in the mood.

Tim, that is really, really nice. You remind me a little of James Taylor and a little bit Willie Nelson sans guitar. I really feel after listening that to this song that adding anything would take away as much as it would add, maybe it would take away more than it would add.

Sometime things are just right. I think I will play this for my wife later, maybe tomorrow through my monitors, she will like it.

    Thanks for sharing!
