I quit and giving all my equipment away....
...Just kidding! Thought it would get some attention for something I found that may be applicable -after scanning through the last few days of posting...I won't mention any names...pay no attention to the underlined statements. I did not write this- I copied it. They offered it as a heads up. Based on a discussion with a noted ENT surgeon currently building in my shop, I thought I would mention an emerging health issue which has me concerned...Proximate Cranial Transit Syndrome, or PC-T. Although seldom debilitating, PC-T does affect one's ability to effectively communicate with others, and may limit social interaction and even acceptance. PC-T is viewed as insidious by health care professionals, primarily because victims are often oblivious to symptoms, thinking others are - in fact - suffering from its effects, rather than they themselves. Based on responses to several recent threads here, I have become worried that there are more than a few of us affected by PC-T. To assist those that may be either at risk for or have already developed the disease, I have pulled what is known of the symptoms and warning signs from several medical sites, and posted them below, but please - seek a professional's opinion if you think you might have one or more of the warning signs and symptoms. Your symptoms (what you may perceive): - Feeling of exclusion from conversations with friends and neighbors - Having to ask others to repeat themselves in simpler language (or even to ask for pictures to assist your understanding) - Auditory illusions, such as soft 'whoshing' sounds which appear to emanate from somewhere close and just above forehead level - these frequently are reported as sounding as though something rapidly passed overhead (hence, the syndrome's moniker) - Frequent feeling of confusion, as in 'I thought I knew what we were talking about, but it was something else entirely!' Warning signs (What others may see and report to you): - Inappropriate or nonsensical response to conversation - inability to understand subtext or other conversational clues - Inappropriate response to humor, to include use of irony, parody, or metaphor Once again, I urge those of you with one or more symptoms or displaying these warning signs to seek help in combating this insidious condition. For those of you affected, you have my best wishes for what is usually at best only a partial recovery.

I'll try to record it with X1 and see if I can filter it out and get back with you. X1 is for processing audio isn't it? ...it does have tools like noise reduction to do that doesn't it?

Hi, Well, ... I didn't quit. I'm looking for a nice/good synthesizer, preferably in the analog side of things, as the digital display side of things is rather "invisible" for my understanding ... and I have no teachers around here, with so many "musicos" that know it all! I would buy a digital synth if someone could help me get it started and going. Other than that I do need an amp for the bass and synthesizer ... not too cheap or small, but reasonable, though it is not going to be playing for an audience of 10k folks or 10k bapu's anytime soon! I just want to hear it better and know what is coming out .. the earphone thing is not quite the same for me.

bapu Pedro, Did you know that John Glascock was in Carmen? And sometimes played a synth too? Yeah ... been saying it for 30 years ... and he was magnificent ... now get this ... did you know that Carmen is from LA? The sad thing, is that when Ian Anderson took John from Carmen, it essentially broke Carmen apart. But then, I think that John was attached to Visconti the producer, that also left at that time to go handle Davie Bowie and others. The show that blew apart Carmen? ... "In Concert" ... when they opened for Jethro Tull ... and blew them off the stage when Ian's group came off as pretentious and not as good as it had been before. I told you many times ... there is "progressive" and "creativity" all over the world ... including LA ... now go check out some Djam Karet, if you don't believe me. And along with Frank Zappa and The Doors, you have in my book some of the best there is in the field!

spacey Aw Mosh...you're just trying to help Star out with some humor. We know you want to be a sax player. I was once told that the only thing I needed was to be locked up in a white room with a keyboard or two ... and voila ... the problem is, by that time I would want to do symphonic works and weirdness (the first title, of course) and the folks here would immediately say ... he will never learn a DAW!
