I really like the new PRV, but....
The tools and features of the new PRV are fantastic. Great job bakers! I work with some softsynths (i.e. Steel Guitar) that has 6 or more CCs. While I realize you can select either showing one CC lane or multiple lanes, there are some cases where I would like to have 2 out of the 6 showing if the timing of one curve has to match up with the other. If I display multiple controllers, I lose resolution compared to displaying just 2 controllers. I can use the - icon to eliminate the ones I don't what to see, but it's a pain (more work) to the bring them back up again. I would be nice if when displaying multiple controllers, you could click on one controller lane, and then CTRL click on the second desired lane (or even a third lane), to show only the lanes you want to work on. This would also eliminate the need to go to a menu to select show multiple or single controllers. This is somewhat like how the automation lanes in the track view work. Walt

That's a great suggestion for Sonar! Maybe you should add that to the Bakery suggestion list so it can be voted up! I have another MIDI editor with a controller pane that works just like you described, show as many or as few as you need. I think that is how it should be. Just like being able to see the MIDI notes from other tracks in your PRV (or not). Sometimes you just need to see how things line up ...

I am going to make a suggestion that I have never heard anyone suggest. So maybe I am missing something and if so, it certainly would not be the first time. This is something I have been wondering about since Sonar 3 back in 2004. The piano roll. Would it be possible to make the keyboard horizontal, so that the visual perception is in sync with my midi controller keyboard. Looking to the left for notes and keys seems a little awkward to me. If the keyboard was in true piano roll position, it seems it would be easier to re-engage with a project that you haven't practiced for some time. I gave up on some of my guitar playing time about 13 years ago in order to learn the keyboard. I've improved, but I'm still learning. It would be a great help to me if there was an option for horizontal keyboard.

That would mean that the piano roll would scroll vertically with time on the y axis. A bit messy... Walt

Haven't thought of that one. Maybe I'll buy a dedicated screen for the purpose.

Well, I actually just tried turning the monitor sideways. The problem is the narrow side of the screen only allows for only so much of the keyboard. Just think, you could have much of the whole piano keyboard visible if you did it the right way. You know like maybe modify the code.

You could pretend you have one of those horrible 25 note keyboards and it would all make sense . Grum.

I can see over 8 octaves one my screen as it is. (1080). Time is a bigger variable and needs more space, as it's infinity divisible, and arguably infinity long. I think it would be a lot of work, and there is little demand for it.

Well, I'm going to retreat for now, since it doesn't seem to be a very popular idea. Maybe I can find panup's house . Thanks for responding everyone.
