I sooooooooooo HATE modern browsers.
TBird will have issues with flash. At least they have a menu bar. I can't stand Chrome. Miss google groups. Anything and everything needs to be done with hotkeys. Edge is the next developers challenge and how well they can dumb it down. The leaves IE. For whatever reason the above browsers you can create shortcuts to web pages on desktop. FF can with an extension. As for Chrome - who cares? Edge you can open one made with IE. I like my webpage shortcuts. I put them in folders if I need to on the desktop. I use Roboform which also means browser limitations. Sorry nothing comes close to Roboform either. Despite all of the negatives about IE I might go back to it if the browsers keep changing by having less features. I have no clue how people can operate dumbed down less featured browsers on phones. I don't get the less functionality on a browser. They all suck to some major degree. Soon FF will change and Roboform users will not have that sweet functionality and be as annoying as Chrome. Developers seem to live in their own world these days and have no clue how a human functions. See Frys Food phone apps. Developers (outside of the DAW world) are on the list of denying parachutes next to politicians.

I still use all of them. Well the big 3 anyway. Edge, Chrome, Firefox. By far Chrome the most though. The reason the developers are doing this Kite is that the vast majority of users never see the internet through anything but the screen on a cellphone! Let that soak in for a minute. They watch hours upon hours of movies, Facebook, twitter, youtube and such through the screen on a cellphone. Going mobile................ Pete was ahead of his time!!

It still sucks. I just can't do that stuff on a phone. They all suck. Cable companies and internet providers are losing to phone providers. All these kids and their phones still can't see **** on a board. I've never seen a generation full of auditory and visual deficiencies.

I've used Chrome for years and don't even notice I'm using it. That's how a browser should be - a transparent host for websites. I can't think of one problem I have with it. I really don't know what it is that you're trying to do with it that you're having a problem with. Yes, it lets you drag websites onto the desktop to make a shortcut. Although personally I see no reason to clog up my desktop with shortcuts when I can manage all of my bookmarks inside of Chrome, and export them if need be. There was once a time when browsers had really frustrating issues with them. Maybe 10 years ago. These days, I feel like they're all good enough. Even Edge.

There are more browsers to try if you're in the mood: grantbarker dot com/web-browsers I mostly use Edge. I just don't like the way it can't remember a Google font and seemingly cleanly load it from cache, like with the above link and pages. (Not meaning to spam my own hobby site. Just might as well help as the above old page includes a fair few browsers.)

I use Firefox as primary (without Flash), and Chrome as secondary (mostly for flash based sites). I reserve Edge with no plugins or extensions for trusted sites that may have problems with the ad blockers and stuff I run in the other two browsers. I wouldn't touch IE with a 10 foot pole.

And since they have updated Firefox to run in multiple processes, and made it available as a full 64-bit application, I have not had a single crash, or unexplained memory leak after opening dozens of tabs... So very stable now, and performance wise, is as good as any other browser.

I used to use FF all the time, but two of the very few websites I actually use on a regular basis would not display properly without switching to IE tab and then that stopped working after one particular update so I ditched it. I also much preferred it when there wasn't a new version every week. The time it took to get from version 3.6 to version 50-odd was ridiculous especially once it hit the 40's and just about every update seemed to break something and/or require jiggery-pokery to get rid of the "improvements" they kept making to the appearance. I try to avoid all things google as much as possible and never liked IE, so ended up at Opera. Not perfect, but the best of the FF alternatives for me.

Seeing as you're responsible for the biggest pile of crap on the whole of the www I think it's only fair that you should have to read them all. And then write it all out 100 times.

The main reason I don't use Firefox is that it seemed to be having some issues with AdBlocker the last time I used it, i.e. pages slowing down or even freezing. The problem stopped when I turned AdBlocker off, but to be honest I'd rather watch QVC for 24 hours straight than surf the net without it. Oh and there's another great reason to use Chrome - they're about to disable autoplay videos by default. I hate those frigging things, they're the scourge of the internet. You can't read a single article on a news site these days without hearing some stupid jingle followed by the banal tones of a plastic local TV news anchor. There's a reason why I don't have a TV, and it's because I cannot bear the look and sound of the mainstream media. So imagine my horror when they started forcing that crap on us with those videos. Chrome is going to end it all.

Give uBlock Origin a shot. Works equally well with both Chrome and Firefox. Has the same filters as Adblock Plus, with many more options available!
