I still don't understand the pricing

As some of you may be aware, I initially placed my order with Musicmatter here in the UK, at an inflated cost of £159.

They are blaming both Cakewalk & Focusrite for the hike in price, and also for the lack of download codes but they have offered to cancel my order seeing as how I can get it a lot cheaper by going direct.

So I've gone into the Cakewalk store, clicked on the relevant buying options and the prices I'm quoted is £132.00 + VAT @ 20% (£26.40) making a total of £158.00

MASSIVE saving of exactly £1.00

Could anyone make a suggestion on what I should do next?

Thanks,

Jonesey

There is something really wrong with the shop.

"Welcome, Colin Jones! If you are not Colin Jones, please click here.
Click here to access a summary of your previous orders."

So clicking "here to access a summary of your previous orders." takes me to another "Log into your Account" screen, and it doesn't recognise me at all, even though the previous page DID recognise me.

Mike, £159 equates to 295.71 AUD. Your 195 AUD is about 104 GBP which is what other people in the UK are reporting

    Hi Jonesey,
I got my download code yesterday , bought it from sweetwater for 149 US Dollar,
which are about 128 Euro, this is cheaoer then the update of X3 , where I payed 149 Euro`s.
I can recommend you this sweetwater deal.
the Download via command center works as fast as never seen imo
and X4 platininum works so farreally smooth (tested it for a few minutes till now.

Did you try to order by JRR. They don't charge VAT. I ended up paying 112 euros here in holland.JRR also gave a code "GROUP" and i got 15% off the original price.

    Hi Jonesey

I just checked out CowboyDan's suggestion of using JRR Shop with the "GROUP" discount code.  You have to start with the "Cakewalk Platinum upgrade from SONAR X3 Producer" product, but after entering the discount code during checkout, it gave a price of $125.16 which is a UK price of £82.51.

    That's more like it eh?

Let me know how you get on, I've yet to take the plunge myself!

I think you will have to wait until they open. If you don't get the e-mail with the redemtion code, just go to their site in your account and view your invoice again. They put the codes in the invoice page but forgot to mail them afterwards. Thats how I got my code.

Yep this is what I had to do also. Go to my JRR account and get the redemption code from my invoice.

I never did get an email from JRR with my redemption code.

Manual codes from JJR can take anything upto about 10pm in the uk based on past experience, I guess it depends how busy they are.

    Thanks,

    Jonesey

That is the straight up price for Platinum when upgrading from an older version of Sonar Pro,  (ie. $199) and not the current "special offer price for X3Pro users" of $149.  You do have X3Pro don't you?  Your sig just says X3c

I would say to check your account to make sure X3 is registered properly, but I see you've already bought from elsewhere.

It is almost eight in the U.S.on the east coast.

I did buy from jrrshop. I didn't understand why I could pay less than the early adopters but there you are.

I agree that it is frustrating when well informed loyal customers are randomly charged differing rates.

I do think one of the enhancements on the cake store site was to correctly assess what you were upgrading from. Sounds like you've found your first new bug.
