I dunno, I always leave mine on and suggest others do the same. I accessed the analytics data when doing the Top 10 lists for the original eZine, and it really does provide useful information to Cakewalk. It's all just aggregated data, like "78% of users are on Windows 10 64-bit."

I'm with you on this one. Cakewalk is one of the few companies I would trust leaving analytics on for. It is software that I use daily and I am sure the feedback Cakewalk receives from it is utilised well.

Hi. I have always had mine on, so I cannot check. Agree that it is probably useful information for Cakewalk. All the best.

Can I get a shock from wearing a tinfoil hat and having analytics on . On a serious note, the only reason I would turn analytics off is because of CPU, disk or RAM usage. However I don't believe it uses any extra fuel. just collects data at the end of the project save. Someone correct me on that please.

No changes to analytics that would turn it on. Also turning it on doesn't consume extra CPU. All it captures is routine stuff like what commands and features are used to help us make more informed decisions when designing new features. The captured data is only uploaded on exit so doesn't impact playback.

Cakewalk ain't gonna learn anything useful from me I'm afraid... I'm a very "Low Power" user if you know what I mean. I would be surprised if I was using anything more than ten percent of Sonar's features...

Just experienced something a little bit strange... I opened up SPlat, went to Preferences and selected the Cakewalk Analytics section. There is a link to click on, which brings up the Cakewalk FAQ about this "feature." I clicked on the link and Google asked me if I wanted to translate the page... Strange, because I am based in the UK. There is a language selection menu and it was showing as English. So I changed the language to German and then back to English... Not English... After trying a few different options it appears that the English FAQ page is actually in Portuguese (Brasil). Yeah... Funny that

I did the same thing yesterday except it was in French. edit.. After further review I realize that I just assumed it was French. I didn't know that Portuguese looked so similar.

I disabled analytics when it was first introduced because it did something obnoxious like pop up some message while I was doing something important. It has not re-enabled itself since then.
