Some of you may recall it started with a fragment...where it started to where it is, is just pure insanity...but the effort has been worth the value of the experience. It's NOT complete. This is still in the concept phase with more to come, but hopefully not much more. My songwriter friend and I need to put some final thoughts into this and we hope that this process has helped us refine OUR joint song writing process. PLEASE PLEASE review. Be harsh, be nice. Be you...but most of all, what we want to know is, can you hear this on a radio, or a movie soundtrack. That's what we want to know.

This sounds already very good. But I think it might be best to shorten it to about 4 minutes maximum just to make it commercially more effective. I might be alone with this opinion though. In movies songs can be longer I think. Very nice melody and well sung and played.

The soundcloud link in your first post is fine but like Lynn I get strong warnings about the mediafire site wanting to steal security data. Consequently I can not do a compare but the version on soundcloud sound very well mixed nice balance across the sound stage and spectrum. Vocal nicely placed and balanced against the rest of the band and backing vox.

I liked that a lot!! The only "correction" I would offer is more of a niggle, but I think I might lower the volume of the guitar to be more in proportion with the piano (both of which are very well played incidentally) and maybe add a tad more reverb since the guitar seems very forward compared to both the piano and vocal. But that's just me.

I want to clarify one thing. When I said it would be a good idea to shorten it to about 4 minutes maximum just to make it commercially more effective, I meant that because radios usually play short about 3 to 4 minute long songs, as you have noticed, so for maximum radio play maybe do also like a radio edit.

well...its a good tune...but if what you "really want to know" if I think it has a movie sound track or radio feel...I'd have to say no. Lots of good stuff going on for sure...but not inspiring enough to say "yea..this is it". With that said again...lots of good recording and it really has it's moments so I'd say keep chipping away.
