I thought the "dock anything that moves" problem had been fixed...
I thought they had fixed the problem of X1 trying to dock anything that even got near the midpoint or lower area of the view. It did it again to me today when I popped open a channel strip gui. Even tho it was towards the top of the screen it turned blue and docked itself. Or is it just random plugs? Or was this just one of those X1 versions of the occaisonal whoopee cushion, handshake shock and/or dribble glass things it likes to do when you least expect it??

I've only seen it doing that twice here..and both times it was with a channel strip... .

In track view? Multi dock's on the bottom. In console view? For me console is already docked so the Channel strip docks on the top of the window with the Console.

Yep I don't what the thinking was, intentional or not but the dock is worse now than it was. The problem is when you expand a docked item such as the Console/PVR, etc., the hotspot is at the Top of that view instead of the hotspot staying at the bottom where is belongs. Dan

Yea...I'm sorry if I wasn't being clear Larry, ol pal. I was in console view but I had opened an instance of my Nomad Factory Sc226 channel strip and had it at the top of the view. I tried to move it sideways and just a skosh down so I could also see the track I was working on and the playback controls. But everytime I moved it at all everything went blue and it docked itself...sometimes I'd like to tell X1 to go dock itself, if ya know what I mean...anyway, it was only happening with that one plug. And it ain't even Sunday yet!!!

I did indeed think they fixed that problem. You used to have to hold control to keep that from happening but it's behaving better here. Yeah I saw your post and wondered what day it was -lol.

I've been getting that - I thought it might have been me having inadvertently pressed a key to change the behaviour. Odd. In the same vein, the other day for a whole session, right clicking a midi note in PRV brought up the note properties box instead of deleting the note which is the new X1 mode! Again, I assumed I'd toggled something - wish I knew how to do it again!

HumbleNoise In track view? Multi dock's on the bottom. In console view? For me console is already docked so the Channel strip docks on the top of the window with the Console. I don't often work in CV, but on a project I was working on yesterday I found myself gravitating toward it. The DOCKING drove me crazy Everything I grabbed was flying into the dock. Once I realized this exact problem I could avoid it (with a little effort). Personally, I think they should force a modifier key if you wanted to dock something. (ie: alt or ctrl while pulling something to the dock hot spot). That way it would always be intentional.

Yea, some mod key to dock would be nice, unless you actually drag a plug into the dock itself - not close to it.

Gaffpro I'm new to X1.....I've lost pro channel and can't seem to find it......is it a possible dock situation? You may have closed the Inspector, press "I" to bring it back and the ProChannel will be a tab on it. Dan
