As a registered GT user, you'll be able to get Home Studio 7 for $79 as opposed to the retail price of $139, or Home Studio 7XL for $129 instead of $209.

There's also the criminally underrated (by those who don't really know much about it) Cakewalk Music Creator 4 which I believe is available as a download for just $35.

It might be worth bending Alan's (Ascottdesign) ear about Music Creator as he recently made the move into MIDI from GT3.

We're very fortunate in this forum that quite a few of the regulars also use other Cake products and so this would be a great thread to ask any specific questions you have mate (as I said, Alan uses MC4, Robert, Doc, Grant and I use HS6XL, I have the latest HS7XL and Doc has SONAR 7 Producer).

PLEASE TELL ME MORE! I have a midi keyboard but my this computer doesn't have a midi hook-up in the back. I know this creates all kinds of upgrade problems. $79 is a relief to me. Would music creator be better? I need much help!

You'll need a new I/O card with MIDI capability either way. Go with HSH7XL. you'll be better off in the long run. BTW Strummy will be happy to come over and assist you in setting it all up. You'll just have to pay him in kegs of Guinness.

There would be 1 problem with me getting Steve here though. That would be getting him back to some place near England. But he wouldn't have any problems finging a place to stay or work here!
