I want to change MIDI Channel of a bunch of MIDI note.(SOLVED)

I just tried with Goliath from EWQL, in Piano roll view.

I was making a piece for BigBand, I loaded up 11 sounds in a Goliath, I assign each of them to each MIDI channel(1 through 11),  recorded just one sound using step record feature in a track. and I selected a bunch of MIDI note and double click it to open the MIDI note property dialog box.

I changed the Channel parameter to what I want.

But the result is just changed a note I doube clicked, not the whole notes I selected

Is there a way to change the MIDI Channel of a bunch of note at a time???

Any suggestion would be appreciate...

Select the notes you want to change.

Then enter a new channel number into the Channel parameter of the Event Inspector module in the Control Bar.

Not sure if this is a bug or just something I don't understand, but here's the scenario:

Inspector says Channel 1.  Changing to Channel 2 takes two operations: first I have to open the drop down and check 2--at which time Sonar says "Multiple," then open it again and uncheck 1.

Basically it won't let me check and uncheck in a single operation, and it won't let me make multiple selections at once.

Is this by design?  not the worst problem int he world, but over a year's time it adds many minutes--especially when cloning tracks and changing channels.

Kevin -- No problem. Glad to help!

Konradh -- not sure what you mean... what are you trying to do?

Scott, Hope I can describe this correctly without being in the studio to capture a screen shot.  Here's the scenario:

    - Create a MIDI track either by Insert or Clone.
    - In this example, let's say the Channel as displayed in the Inspector is Ch 1.
    - I want to change it to Channel 2.
    - If I click on the box in the Inspector that says Ch 1, I see a drop-down with all 16 Channels.  Ch 1 is checked.
    - When I click on Channel 2, the drop down closes and now says Multiple because both Ch 1 and Ch 2 are selected.
    - I have to open the drop-down a second time to deselect Ch 1.
    - This is tedious when multiple channels have to be selected or deselected and multiple tracks need to be reassigned.

Perhaps I am missing something, but it seems check boxes would have been better so the user could check or uncheck as many channels as desired.

Although I don't typically send a single track to multiple channels, many people do.  In that scenario, the user would have to open the drop down multiple times, selecting one channel each time.

Ah ha... I see what you mean now.

That control changes the channel for the Arpeggiator, not the MIDI track.

To change the channel of the MIDI track, look for the control labled C in the left pane of the Inspector, just below the FX bin.
