Damn, Jesse, born with a gun in your hand?  Mama didn't say knock you out -- Mama say ouch.

That said, although this isn't my cuppa, it's well done.

    Listen here, woman...

Like Allan said, Jesse's gonna knock you out, with a gun in his hand.   Loved all the sound effects coming in and out, the record scratches, and whatever those layers were at the end.

Creative as usual! I think you upgraded your vocal recording chain somehow, sounds good. You are getting dangerously mid-fi.  :)   Uh, and fun-kaaaay.

As always, your music is a sign of the times.  The production is constantly improving, and your ideas are unique, if not Zappa-ish.  I liked the song that followed as well.  Here's to originality!

Doggone -- I think that this is the first funk-hiphop fusion that I have heard.  The heck with the Suwannee River, in gun loving Florida maybe this should be our state song.  Creativity abounds in this song!

Hello, thank you for the comments.

To A Bull, stevec, e-soul, Freddy,  and Lynn, you guys are always there to comment on my meanderings.  You are also commenters on many others song too.  You all are truly the ones that help make the song forum a cool place to feel like somebody cares.

To eph, yes, she stole my cow....it was an udder disaster.

Ant Man B, the bass is the SI Baas Guitar, amped mutes patch, with some limiter, and EQ.  Also, I finished Moby Dick and I have to say it was a great read.

Serious Noize, I'm not sure why you didn't like the song, and that is fine, I don't need a reason.  But I do have a funny story.  I have a friend who hated it too, he said it was to violent; the funny thing is....he loves Hey Joe by Jimi Hendrix, and Happiness is a Warm Gun by the Beatles, so go figure.

    Thanks again

I apologize Jesse Q, Screed, your right about the content, it upset me at the time and I was out of line. Music sounds great in my opinion, I just didn't like the content of the lyrics and took it a bit too personal.

I did not like the content of the words, people have mothers and daughters and sisters and making a song about WOMEN beating is not a good thing.
So you basically are saying other peoples opinions do not matter and you are smarter than all of us here eh?

Meaning when someone post a song the listeners do not matter at all? Or that is a criminal is PASTICHE? Big words do not equate to intelligence. Just saying. People want to be entertained by songs, not thrown into a big bunch of BS drama. Just being PASTICHE you might say.

    Just my opinion....... Good Day.......

Once you get past the green color, pastiche is actually a very pleasant flavor of ice cream.

Let's play nice, folks. Sometimes a smart-ass comment strikes others as funny, sometimes it doesn't. Either way, let it slide. For the record, I didn't care for the song either. But I still gotta give it props for originality!

OK , in all honesty I have mixed feelings about this tune .
On the positive side , it is nice to hear that your branching out , taking risks and writing according to what you are looking to express musically ...
On the flip side the writing style is somewhat light , misogynistic,  and I take offence to you even comparing this to Hey Joe ..
it's not even close ...but hey , in the end , if it's all about progress and not perfection , then you are making good ground in your music

    all the best,

    Well, there I go again.

Hey Serious Noize, there is no need to apologize. However, for what it is worth, I accept it. I respect your honesty, but again, I didn't take your response in a negative way.  The song is of a violent nature, that much is true.  I don't like the subject matter either, but unfortunately there are aspects of our reality that are very much in line with this subject.  To me, this is more like a cable news sound byte.  Not condoning, or promoting, just pointing out.  So, thanks for the opportunity to converse with you.  "Successful conversation will take you very far."

As to the rest of it, this is going to sound superficial, but I try not to get into arguments over the internet.  I say what I say, do what I do, try not to incite outrage, and let people express their natures as they wish.  I already have a world of hurt surrounding me, no need to wade into the deep water here.

Oh, and Eph, I did not "play" the bass line, you probably knew that.  In fact, I didn't play anything.  I merely explored the smorgasbord provided within Sonar and heaped the choices onto my plate.  I suppose you could call that "play?" Sonar can be like a bucket full of Lego.

My next song is a straight up love song, with a female vocalist!!!!!  But I will wait until this song crashes to the bottom of the page before posting it.

This is the problem with today's people in charge of deciding what is music and what is not. What do I mean by that? I mean that if you have TO EXPLAIN YOUR WORDS OR YOUR SOUNDS then you are an issue to begin with when it comes to listening to your music.

I liked hearing the music, I didn't like the content of the words.
